(Braselton) In addition to its standard children’s summer programs at the Braselton Library, the staff believes the library is an important place for teens and tweens and offers programming opportunities especially for them. Several events are slated for July for fun and learning retention. Teens may retrieve a list of about forty random items for the “Take Home Scavenger Hunt” beginning July 12 and return their loot to the library on Saturday, July 14 by 12:30 PM. In prior events, some items were a four-leaf clover, a local business card and a Mead Trapper-Keeper. Snacks, games and outdoor fun are promised for the “Rockin’ Beach Party” on Thursday, July 19. Teens and adults may reserve a 30-minute exploration of the Oculus Rift virtual reality experience is offered on July 20 and 21. And tween movies are scheduled for July 10 (“Paddington 2”) and July 24 (“The Tale of Desperaux”) at 10:30 AM. “We are responding to the wishes expressed by our community’s tweens, teens and their parents,” says library manager, Lori Hayes. “Our children’s programs continue to be popular, and we believe these programs will be well received and successful as well.” The Braselton Library is at 15 Brassie Lane in the town’s historic district.
